On April 24th local time, US President Joe Biden said he had signed a bill which involves forcing ByteDance to divest its app TikTok's U.S. operations within a deadline of about nine months or it will face a nationwide U.S. ban.

What is the true reason why the United States is banning TikTok and what impact will it have on the lives of the American people?

We interviewed Daniel Egger, one of the founding fathers of the international Internet, a professor at Duke University's Master of Engineering Management program, with a doctor of law from Yale University.
