蘋果執行長 Tim Cook 爲iOS 6.0的地圖功能向粉絲道歉

蘋果公司在發表 iPhone 5 的同時，也正式發表了 iOS 6.0 ，並在幾天後提供更新版本，結果因爲地圖功能太過兩光，引發全球用戶撻伐；對此，蘋果執行長 Tim Cook 在 28 日發表公開言論，表示「非常抱歉新地圖造成客戶的挫折感，我們正致力將地圖變得更好。」

在公開信當中，Tim Cook 不斷提到蘋果公司以「提供全世界最好的產品」爲目標，但「自從我們上個星期推出新地圖之後，我們並沒有達到這個承諾」併爲此向全球用戶道歉。Tim Cook 還提到目前已經有超過 1 億臺 iOS 裝置使用新版的 Apple Maps，並使用該軟體搜尋了近 5 億張地圖，這對於 Apple Maps 的更新來說是好的。

不過 Tim Cook 也在公開言論當中推薦使用者「暫時」先選擇像是 Bing、MapQuest、Waze，或者是 Google 和 Nokia 地圖的網頁版等對手陣營的地圖服務，同時表示蘋果公司會繼續不停地努力讓地圖程式符合更高的標準。

其實蘋果公司對外公開道歉並不是第一次，像是兩年前大家記憶猶新的 iPhone 4 天線門問題，甚至是 2009 年搭載 core i7 的 iMAC 的延遲交貨，或是 2007 年 iPhone 剛上市時，賈伯斯也曾經爲新機線上付款的問題作出了罕見的道歉等。蘋果公司都在發表聲明後隨即在第一時間作出最佳反應，贏取粉絲支持，不過這次有關蘋果地圖的問題，相信將會是該公司的另一項挑戰，究竟會在多短的時間內獲得最佳解決方案，頗令人期待。

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.
