本週我們來學習與會議相關的詞彙

1. conference /'kɒnf(ə)r(ə)ns/

n. [通常歷時數天有專門議題的大型正式]會議

搭配：attend /host/ chair a conference 參與/主辦/ 主持會議

e.g. Over 500 scientists attended the conference.

e.g. It’s an honor to chair the annual marketing conference, where industry leaders come together to share insights.

teleconference n.遠程會議

e.g. Due to travel restrictions, the company decided to hold a teleconference instead of an in-person meeting.

補充：an in-person meeting 當面會議

2. proposal /prə'pəʊz(ə)l/

n. 提議；建議；提案

e.g. During the conference, several experts put forward proposals for tackling climate change on a global scale.

e.g. Due to budget limitations, they had no choice but to reject the proposal for a large-scale advertising campaign.

v. propose 建議；提議；提出

e.g. She proposed that we extend the deadline for the project by one week

e.g. He proposed that the company invest in new technology to stay competitive.

3. minute /'mɪnɪt/

n. 會議記錄；

e.g. The minutes of the meeting were distributed to all attendees.

e.g. After the meeting, I will send out the minutes to ensure everyone is on the same page.

補充：attendee 出席者；參加者

on the same page 意見一致; 達成一致意見

4. venue /'venjuː/

n. 事件或活動的發生地, 舉辦地點; 場地

搭配：book / arrange a venue 預定/安排場地

e.g. "The venue for the meeting was changed last minute due to a scheduling conflict.

e.g. We need to book a venue for the annual company conference before the end of the month.

5. loop /luːp/

n. 繩等形成的圈，環

補充: in the loop: be part of a group of people that is dealing with something important; 屬於圈內人士

反義：out of loop 不屬於圈內人士；不知情

e.g. As the manager, I need to ensure that all team members arein the loopon the new policies.

e.g. We need to have regular meetings tokeep the team in the loopabout any changes in direction.

e.g. It’s easy tofeel out of the loopwhen you're working remotely and don't attend every meeting.
